Civics in Chaos

Civics in Chaos

Civics in Chaos is a 2-4 players card game with a storyline closely mapped to real civics. This is a product of our own. We created it by going through ideation, prototyping, Kickstarter campaign and now manufacturing.

Game Design = System Design

My role was to develop structural game system. This work was similar to designing multi-users digital platform β€” it’s essential to consider all players/users perspective and dynamic. How a player act would influence the whole game and other players.

The process include numerous thinking, play testing, and iteration. We tried to map the game as closely as possible to the current situation. We hope that this game could be educational and helps people be more engage to civics.

Rulebook = Information Architecture

Rulebook was another major part I was in. The rules were complicated, like real civics, so our goal was to explain the game in a simple way. This task was really about information architecture because we were trying to organized and sort huge amount of information in a logical way into a mini pamphlet.
